The “Club Med” chain is a French cooperation of resort clubs, situated throughout the world. The name Club Med is an abbreviation of “Club Méditerranée”, meaning “Mediterranean Club”. The chain’s clubs are usually situated in exotic locations around the globe. Club Med was established during the 1950s, and many people attribute the conception of “all included” clubs, which has also caught on in Israel, to this chain.
The Fattal hotel chain is the exclusive operator of the Coral Beach Club Med in Eilat, and manages it according to the chain’s global tradition and strict guidelines. Importantly, the Israeli club in Eilat is a “Kosher” resort, excluding one beachside restaurant.
Club Med workers are referred to as “GOs” (short for “Gracious Organizers”), and the vacationers are referred to as “GMs” (Gentils Membres – French for Gracious Members).
